Energy Efficiency Comes to The Borough Building

Thanks to State and County grants totally more than $600,000, the Wilkinsburg Borough Building at 605 Ross Avenue, has received numerous energy efficiency upgrades. The work includes high efficiency lighting, programmable thermostats, hot water heaters and weatherization as well as a new boiler, roof upgrades and new windows. Insulation work is ongoing, but most of the work is complete. Much of the work was completed through the Allegheny County Energy Program For Municipalities. This work is in line with the Borough’s Sustainability Study completed in 2011. The 2012 budget includes some improvements to the front of the building as well.
