FUNDRAISING AND STRATEGIC PLANNING SERVICES

FOR THE WILKINSBURG SUN NEWSLETTER

WILKINSBURG, PA

ISSUED BY THE WILKINSBURG COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

The Wilkinsburg Community Development Corporation is seeking a consultant to assist the Wilkinsburg Sun Newsletter in evaluating current operating procedures, revenue generating activities and to increase fundraising capabilities by creating a more diverse base of funders and donor base development.   Consultant will deliver a fundraising plan that will enable the newsletter to continue operating in a sustainable manner. The applicant should have experience using social media for fundraising purposes as the Sun is beginning to use social media and believes there is potential to tap into existing online networks that have a vested interest in the publication.

 

Information Requested

 

–       Expressions of interest in this project;

–       Examples of similar projects.

–       An overview of the general approach to this project;

–       Experience with community groups.

–       Fundraising experience

–       Any relevant experience with publications, print and web-based

 

Process

January  24, 2011:             Initial distribution of RFP

 

February 18, 2011:             Proposals Due

 

February 25, 2011:            Selection will be made

 

The chosen consultant will need to be able to start working with the WCDC and the Sun March 1, 2011 through April 30, 2011.  Consideration will be given to whether a consultant/firm is minority or woman owned, as well as to its presence in the greater Wilkinsburg community – however, these considerations will not be determinative.

Compensation – $2,425
