by

The 14th annual Pittsburgh Blues Festival at Hartwood Acres, July 25-27, is the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank’s biggest fund-raiser. Since its inception, the blues festival has raised more than $800,000 to provide food for more than 120,000 people in the Greater Pittsburgh area.
This year’s festival lineup includes Mardi Gras Night on Friday with Li’l Brian and the Zydeco Travelers, and Tab Benoit. All-day concerts on the weekend feature local acts and Homemade Jamz, the Joanna Connor Band and Taj Mahal on Saturday; and wraps up Sunday with Southern Culture on the Skids, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk and the Tommy Castro Band. Tickets are $22 for one day (in advance) and $25 at the gate. Weekend pass (advance sales only) is $40. Kids 12 and under get in free. Price of admission for the Friday night show: canned goods. Whatever you can bring.
New this year: volunteer to help out at the festival and get in free. Go to http://www.pghblues.com/volunteers.htm to volunteer, or call 412-460-BLUE.
