On June 27, County Executive Dan Onorato came to Wilkinsburg to cut the ribbon on two new housing initiatives in Wilkinsburg. The first stop was three houses in the Hamnett Place neighborhood on Jeanette Street and one on Holland Avenue that were developed by Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation. All four houses have been sold. A second phase of the project is planned for the future. The second stop was the Peebles Square project, where six historic townhouses were dedicated. A second phase of the project involving new construction is underway. Action Housing is the developer for Peebles Square.
