Farmers Market Open For Business

Wilkinsburg residents are lining up again for fresh produce
at the Farmers’ Market.

Wilkinsburg Farmers Market is a grower/producer only market, which was established in 1977. The vendors provide in season produce, fruits, flowers, baked goods and miscellaneous goods. Free parking is provided for patrons of the market.

Market Times:
3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
June 21 – November 20, 2008

Market Features:
The South Avenue Methodist Church and the Mulberry Senior Center serve hot dogs, grilled sweet corn, and refreshments.

Consumers can buy our farm fresh foods from:

* Hi-View Gardens – Todd Wetzel
Vegetables raised with organic methods. Lettuce, spinach, kale, eggplant, heirloom tomatoes, potatoes, garlic, green beans, onions, perrenial plants, herbs, and cut flower arrangements

* McElhinny Farm – John McElhinny
Sweet corn, tomatoes, and zucchini

* McKinney Farm – Jeff McKinney
Tomatoes, potatoes (red and white), peppers, eggplant, sweet corn, zucchini, green beans, lettuce, kale, spinach, onions, strawberries, plums, mums, pumpkins, cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower

* Paul’s Orchard – Mark Zibritosky
Apples (several varieties), peaches, plums, cherries, apple cider, and tomatoes

* The Rise Above Bakery – Fran Mcdermott-Kvorjak
